Heritage & Awareness Months are an incredible opportunity for companies to acknowledge, celebrate, and learn about the diverse heritage and cultural history of their employees.
Especially for hybrid or remote teams with fewer opportunities to connect, it’s vital that we use these calendar moments to learn about each other and gain new perspectives.
“Not everything that is faced can be changed; but nothing can be changed until it is faced.” - James Baldwin
Introducing: Heritage & Awareness Months with Marco
We’ve gathered a community of incredible facilitators who represent these heritage, history, and awareness months and their contributions, values, and traditions. From food and cooking experiences to art gallery visits and musical performances, choose between a multitude of engaging experiences to honor the rich cultural traditions of your team members.
Celebration is important for teams (and it’s a core value for us!), but we also feel it’s important to showcase experiences that provide space to acknowledge and further examine the struggles and issues these communities have faced throughout time.
That's why we'll also be offering immersive educational experiences, to create space and opportunities for learning and connection.
Kicking off this February with Black History Month
Our first dedicated Heritage Month begins this February, with Black History Month.
Choose from engaging experiences led by incredible Black facilitators, like Chloé’s Theory of Enchantment experience, which uses pop culture to show you how the wisdom of Dr. King's message can be found even today in contemporary times. Or, try out Maceo’s Visualizing Our Identities experience, where everyone on your team designs a visual representation of their identity to share with the group.
Or, learn about the journey of Black artists and their impact on American music in an experience led by recording artist Jackie Gage. For teams looking to recharge and learn more about self-care as a BIPOC identifying person, check out Nkechi’s powerful meditation experience: How We Become Free.
In coming months, we'll begin to share even more curated experiences for teams to connect. Here's a preview of what's coming up:
- February: Black History Month
- March: Women's History Month
- April: AAPI Month & Autism Awareness Month
- June: LGBTQ+ Month & Pride
- September: Latinx or National Hispanic Heritage Month
- November: Native American History Month
