At Marco, we believe technology can build community if done right. We exist to create extraordinary experiences to keep teams connected, employees engaged, and culture thriving.
We wanted to share a bit about what we accomplished in 2020, and what’s in store for 2021!
Hi, I’m Suman, CEO and co-founder of Marco. It all began when I messaged my co-founder Nick before heading to a Rüfüs Du Sol concert (remember those??) nearly two years ago. After a classic SF coffee meeting I tried to charm Nick into quitting his day job and partner to build a company together.
It didn’t happen right away. What started off as a side project, became a Main Project and became a full-fledged COMPANY!
So far, it’s been an immensely rewarding professional and personal chapter, and I can speak for the team when I say we’re excited for what’s to come! We’ve recently closed a seed round with some incredible investors (more on that to come), and we’re actively hiring!
Nick and I set out to build community by creating moments in the workplace through virtual experiences. We started small, convincing people within our networks to take a chance and let us plan an event for their team. Since then, we’ve been able to work with teams from some of the largest companies across the country, ranging from Salesforce to Microsoft, to help them bring their teams and partners together.
2020 didn’t made the work year easy for anyone. Despite our inability to be together in-person this Holiday Season, we didn’t want to write off the year’s end of year celebration. The Holidays are a time to reward the year’s hard work, celebrate wins, and get ready for a new set of challenges (hopefully not as many as last year). We hosted countless events and grown annualized net revenue to ~$800K in December.
We’ve also played a role in helping create new connections and enliven old ones amongst coworkers. Perhaps the pinnacle of the month was the ability to successfully bring to (virtual) life the full Bain Texas Holiday party across three offices for 500 people — especially meaningful, as this is where I started my career!
We encourage you to book an experience — check out what we offer here!

You’ve got to hand it to our Experiences hosts. They’ve weathered the tough transition as small-business owners during COVID to creating new business models in the span of months. Their resilience, creativity, and entrepreneurship inspires us every day. We’ll be sharing some amazing content we’ve captured over the next few weeks, but here’s a sneak peek.
Hosts with the Most Kevin Blake (Magic), Matt Sterling (Trivia), Kait Bauman (Cooking), Hayden and Michail (Music + Food).
We’re excited to say that we’re full-steam-ahead in bringing on new partners. In a true “silver lining” moment, creators across the country have embraced how technology can can allow them to reach new audiences. These range from Oyster Shucking to a Virtual Drag Show from Lisbon-based Drag Taste.
Marco is a technology company and marketplace, and also a creative endeavor. To this end, we work with some of the best in the business to bring to life a new kind of experience.
We’ve learned a lot along the way in our first entrepreneurial venture. Despite the bumps and bruises, we convinced others to join and with this amazing team, we’re confident that we’ll build something big and exciting. Allow us to introduce some of the folks that make the magic happen!
We’re continuing to grow our team of intelligent, curious, creative, and hard-working individuals.
HERE is our job board in Notion — we’re looking for several roles including a Lead Engineer, Head of Community, Customer Success Manager, and Experiences Coordinator. We promise — it’s an immensely fun place to work with talented people. It’s an experiences company, after all. Please pass along any candidates who you think could be a good fit!
We’re just getting started and hope you follow along!
Cheers,
Suman — CEO and Co-founder
Nick — CTO and Co-founder
